Building works kick off

We have kick off! On Saturday a group of volunteers cleared the area in preparation for the start of works at the end of the month. This included repositioning the church pews, creating a second play area, clearing the balcony and creating a temporary storage space. There is still much to do, but it is amazing to see how much 14 people can achieve in two hours.

The next working party will be on Saturday 20th August from 10.00 – 12.00. Any volunteers are welcome! And the more we can do ourselves, the less we spend on labour. You never know there might even be coffee and cake involved!

The next milestones are the removal of four cast iron radiators on the week of 22nd August and the installation of a scaffolding dust screen on 12th September. Some electrical alterations will then allow us to start working on the balcony and removing the screen. Our joinery manufacturer is standing by to survey the space and start making the new screen at the end of September.
